Beauty buy of the week

Mayfield Lavender is a tranquil area in Banstead featuring 25 acres of lavender fields, where visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll and savour the sights, sounds and smell of the fragrant flowers.

But the beauty spot is also where owners, Brendan and Lorna Maye, produce organic English lavender oil and turn it into fabulous beauty products.

The chalky soil of the North Surrey Downs is perfect for lavender and the area was the global leader in lavender production right up to the end of the Victorian era.

The lavender is grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides and then a traditional steam distillation process is used to produce the organic oil, which is then used in products, such as the Intensive and Easily Absorbed Hand and Nail Cream using Mayfield Lavender Organic Lavender Oil (pictured).

The hand cream uses 87.8% certified organic ingredients and leave your hands feeling soft, supple and smelling gorgeous.

Mayfield Lavender can be found on Croydon Lane, Banstead, SM7 3BE or the products can be bought on line at
